What sparked your interest in American Football?
“I got involved with the sport because two of my best friends played, so I tried out and joined the same team. The team at the time was called the Rebels.”
Football Career History:
• 1994 - Introduced to American Football however did not play, just learned and practiced.
• 1995 to 99 - Started playing on the Rebels Flag team. Rebels team won the Flag championships 5 years in a row.
• 1999 - Coached the Rebels team because was over the age limit for the league.
• 1999 - Played on the Tigers team in the Kiwanis junior varsity league and broke arm the first game.
Fact: The Kiwanis league changed management in 2000 and the Tigers team was renamed to the Knights team.
• 2001 to 03 - Played on the Panthers varsity team.
Curious Fact: 2002 went to South Florida University Football Camp with Guillermo Suarez who is presently Head Coach for the National Team of Panama.
• 2004 - Was to play on the Panthers varsity team but didn’t because was leaving soon for university. Instead played on the FSU Florida State University, Panama Campus, Raptors/Seminoles team in the contact open league 18+. Raptors/Seminoles won the contact open league 18+ national championship.
• 2004 to 08 - Played on the University of Pennsylvania Sprint Football team.
Fact: Sprint Football is contact football but with a weight limit. It’s fast and for lighter and smaller built physiques. Sample of other teams in the league; Princeton, Cornell, Army, Navy…
• 2008 to 10 - After returning from university played on the Horned Frogs Flag team. Horned Frogs team won the Club Union Flag Football League championships 3 years in a row. Won MVP in 2010.
Fact: Horned Frogs team played in both Flag leagues. The Club Union Flag Football League and the Panama Flag League.
• 2011 - Played on the Gorillaz Flag team in the Club Union Flag League.
• 2011 to 13 - Played on the Terps Flag team in the Panama Flag League.
• 2012 - Played on the Honey Badgers Flag team. Won MVP.
• 2012 - Played on the National Flag Team of Panama at the IFAF World Flag Championship in Sweden.
• 2012 to Present - Played on the Panama Saints team in the PMFL Panama Major Football League.
Fact: Panama Saints won the last two PMFL Panama Major Football League National Championships in 2013 and 2014. (Before 2011 PMFL was known as the contact open league 18+) The Panama Saints won 12 national championships over the years.
• 2012/13/14 - MVP 3 year winning streak of the PMFL Panama Major Football League.
Fact: Vying for fourth MVP! National Team of Panama teammate QB Diego Cohen is the only other player from the contact open league 18+/PMFL to have a MVP 3 year winning streak during the years of 2002/03/04.
• 2013 - Played on the National Team of Panama at the 1st Central American Bowl in El Salvador. Panama won championship.
• 2014 to Present - Played on the Bulldogs Flag team.
• 2014 - Played on the National Flag Team of Panama at the IFAF World Flag Championship in Italy.
